  • What is BUZZTV?
    • BUZZTV is a community based television network, simply put BUZZTV buzzcasts local community content from the area you live in, to screens situated at prime restaurants, venues & guesthouses. The idea is that unlike on national or international television, BUZZTV enables the viewer to see content, that means interesting local events, places, people and uplifting localised content… you, your friends and businesses, your town and surrounds. Yes we sometimes do schedule captivating content from far away, but only if it inspires and is uplifting to the viewer.

      BUZZTV schedules 70% local content and 30% paid for advertising in order to pay for costs. BUZZTV also offers paid for private or public content channels, perfect for companies who wish to empower their offices or sites with in-house content only. For folk or companies who produce content, we are happy to broadcast your content to our viewers if relevant to our viewers.

      BUZZTV as a brand will not broadcast any material relating to politics, religion or any material of an offensive nature. BUZZTV strives to build a clean television network that is NOT subject to the nature of the mass media.

      THEBUZZ again, is a a community based business/social initiative that assists artists, businesses and people to create a buzz about themselves or their products/services within a town, area or region.

    • Consider it a personal dream quest. BUZZTV IS the very reason we get out of bed every day. It is pure boundless passion, driven by the desire to do this every waking minute of our days, and carrying our message and flag afar.

      In 2006, Greg McEwan-Marriott whilst employed with Anglo American Base Metals started looking into digital advertising as a possible future. Rendercast the idea, was born. On 24 August 2007, Rendercast was officially launched in Langebaan with sites in Langebaan, Saldanha, Mooreesburg, Vredenburg etc.

      Greg was at the time editor of Coastal News, a small local newspaper and in 2008 decided to start his own newspaper called the footprint in combination with a new revamped digital broadcast system that would focus its efforts rather at restaurants where people sit for long periods of time, than busy shopping malls.

      imediate launched its digital broadcast network on the beach in Langebaan, at the Hobie Tiger & Dragoon Worlds Championships in March 2008. With only a handful of screens scattered at the best restaurants around Langebaan and at the Laguna Mall, imediate and the footprint, official media providers for the Hobie Worlds Championships, broadcast  live footage and results to the restaurants.

      imediate tried expanding into the Eastern Cape a year later with screens at Storms River Mouth and Addo National Park, but unable at the time to raise serious investment, Greg then on subcontract at Coega Development Corporation put his dream to rest for a while

      On March 27, 2015 theBUZZ was launched and BUZZTV went live at the Walker Bay Xtreme festival on May 01, 2015.

  • What next?
    • Our first goal is to complete the roll out of our network into the remainder of the Overberg & Helderberg regions – our target is within the next 3 months. Our second goal is to make BUZZTV available in the West Coast (where the dream started many years ago), The Cape Winelands and the Eastern Cape within the next 3 – 6 months.

      By the end of 2016 we want to have BUZZTV nationwide plus with a few isolated venues throughout southern Africa.
